January 14, 2004 By: Sharon Madison The GolfWorks and Bob Toski to create an all-new line exclusively for custom clubmakersThe GolfWorks is now teaming with PGA Tour legend Bob Toski to create a complete line of top-quality golf equipment for assembly by custom clubmakers. The new line is currently being designed by Ralph Maltby, Founder of The GolfWorks, and will make its debut in March at the Professional Clubmakers Society Expo in Louisville, Ky. This partnership will combine the technical expertise of Mr. Maltby and The GolfWorks Technical Staff with the golf swing knowledge of Mr. Toski to create an exclusive new line of high-performance components for custom clubmakers. "I am very excited to be working with Bob and to bring the Toski line to The GolfWorks," said Mr. Maltby. "The Toski name is one that both golfers and clubmakers have come to respect in terms of high quality and high performance. This new line will continue, and expand, upon that tradition. This will be a high-end line that clubmakers will be proud to offer in their shop!" Mr. Toski enjoyed a long and successful career on the PGA Tour — he was the circuit's money leader in 1954 — before he turned his focus to teaching. His Bob Toski Golf Schools taught the finer points of the golf swing to thousands of players during the 1970s, and he then became actively involved in golf equipment as the namesake of the Bob Toski Golf Company in 1977. Toski Golf championed the benefits of custom-fit golf equipment and was widely regarded for the high quality of its components. The GolfWorks' partnership with Mr. Toski will take that commitment to an all-new level. At the Maltby Design Studio, a state-of-the-art facility that rivals the top R&D centers in the golf industry, Mr. Maltby and The GolfWorks Technical Staff are currently testing the new Toski line. "Like every clubhead produced by The GolfWorks, the Toski line is being designed and evaluated via the Maltby Playability Factor," said Britt Lindsey, Vice President of Technical Services for The GolfWorks. "Playability Factor lets us design products for specific performance characteristics, and clubmakers will find the Toski line offers a complete range of game-improvement playability to match to the needs of all player types." Toski components will be sold exclusively by The GolfWorks via catalog with a toll-free phone and a special Toski web site. Specific information for ordering this all-new line will be announced at the PCS Expo. "This is a special opportunity for me," said Mr. Toski. "Ralph Maltby is one of the premier clubhead designers in the history of the game, and to have my name on equipment designed by him is very exciting." Also see: golf carts for sale.Author Notes:
