Discount Card slices prices for Hawaii golfers

Hawaii State Golf Association's 2001 membership card has been sent to more than 8,000 golfers throughout the islands. This card is more than a symbol of membership in the state's largest amateur golf association. It also represents a way for Hawaii golfers to save money at businesses all over the state. A special sticker on each card tells the story: It reads "Preferred Member Discount Card." It entitles HSGA members to at least a 10% saving on goods and services such as golf equipment and attire, golf club repairs, green fees and meals at select restaurants and up to 40% off on hotel rooms.

Hawaii State Golf Association is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1984 to promote and serve the best interest of golf and golfers in Hawaii. The Association's goal is to have everyone in the state under one reliable handicapping system--the USGA's computerized Golf Handicap Information Network. This will create an environment in which all golfers can compete on an equitable basis.

As the official USGA representative for the State of Hawaii, HSGA also offers members many other great benefits, including golf competitions (such as the HSGA GHIN Invitational 1st Annual Event in 2001), USGA qualifying events, golf seminars (on rules, handicapping, ethics, etc.) and consulting, amateur status reinstatement, and course and slope ratings. Now, with the Preferred Member Discount Card, HSGA even offers its members money-saving opportunities from a growing list of businesses who enthusiastically support amateur golfers in Hawaii.  Also see: Las Vegas golf vacations.
