'America's Best State-by-State' survey of the roughly 675 public-access courses in Florida

The St. Joe Company, today announces that the Tom Fazio-designed Camp Creek Golf Club has been recognized for its environmental stewardship through designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System .

An international program administered by Audubon International and sponsored in part by the United States Golf Association, ACSS requires courses adhere to stringent standards designed to help preserve and enhance the environmental quality of their land. Camp Creek's efforts to achieve this designation were led by Superintendent Larry Livingston, whose comprehensive maintenance and agronomic plans have seen Camp Creek become one of the most environmentally-friendly courses in the southeastern U.S.

Livingston is a certified Audubon Steward, one of the very few so distinguished in Northwest Florida. As such, he is recognized by his peers as a leader in the industry and will be called on as a mentor for other superintendents and those seeking Audubon certification.

We're very pleased at this distinction, as from day one it's been a major focus of everyone involved with Camp Creek to serve as environmental stewards, says Livingston. St. Joe has provided unconditional support of our efforts to maintain and enhance the natural habitat of the plants and animals that make Florida's Great Northwest so wonderfully unique.

Camp Creek Golf Club has shown a strong commitment to its environmental program, says Joellen Zeh, Program Manager for the ACSS. To reach certification, a course must demonstrate that they are maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas. They are to be commended for their efforts to provide a sanctuary for wildlife on the golf course property.

Featuring a unique 'dunescape' appearance, Camp Creek was recently ranked #8 in Golfweek magazine's annual 'America's Best State-by-State' survey of the roughly 675 public-access courses in Florida. Increasingly cited as one of Fazio's best works since opening three years ago, Camp Creek was created for nearby owners and guests at St. Joe's WaterColor and WaterSound Beach residential and resort communities.

WaterColor Inn and Resort, a member of the prestigious 'Small Luxury Hotels of the World', offfers a variety of accommodations through WaterColor's vacation rental homes and cottages. Fine and casual dining, boutique shopping and myriad recreational opportunities complement the exceptional resort community experiences.
