For the fourth consecutive year, the Oglethorpe University men's golf team earned a berth into the 2004 NCAA Division III Championships held in Beaumont, Ca.. The four-round tournament took place at the PGA of Southern California Golf Course at Oak Valley.

This year’s bid marked the team’s sixth NCAA National Tournament bid in the last seven years. The team left the tournament with a commendable ninth place finish this year. At the 2003 Championship, the team finished sixth landing its best-ever finish in four trips to the Nationals.

Additional honors during the tournament included the team’s top player Trent Erb recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America as an individual award winner for Division III men’s golf. Erb received the Nicklaus Award presented by Dillard’s, Inc. and Hartmarx Corporation.
