Rated 4-Stars in Golf Digest's 'Places to Play' issue, the 18-hole championship course opened May 7 for the season. The Mountain Golf School at Killington will open May 29. Throughout the region, within an hour's drive of Killington, golf enthusiasts will find 270 holes of Green Mountain golf with the stunning beauty that only Vermont can offer as a backdrop. Renowned golf course designer Geoffrey Cornish developed Killington's 18 holes to test players of all abilities. The 6,186-yard, par 72 course features mountainous terrain challenging the most polished of players while generous greens allow novices to enjoy a unique course in the beautiful mountain setting. The golf training facility at Killington is put to good use for every aspect of the game. A 12,000-square-foot practice putting green and 18-station driving range are available. In addition, there are pitching and chipping areas, plus practice sand bunkers The Mountain Golf School at Killington The Mountain Golf School at Killington is carefully structured to build each facet of one's game, from basic form to game strategy, from beginners to seasoned players. Golfers will spend each morning in a small group to get one-on-one attention from a Pro. After a detailed swing analysis, students will develop their skills in such areas as bunker play, full swing, putting, chipping, and pitching. In the afternoon, golfers can play the course with their Pro who is available for assistance. The Mountain Golf School at Killington offers two-day weekend or three-day weekday packages that include lodging, instruction each day, daily greens fee and cart rental, unlimited use of the range and practice facilities, roving on-course Pro for two hours after each class, and lunch daily. Cool summer breezes at the 2,000-foot altitude produce optimal playing temperatures and ensure a spectacular round that demands a return. Stay & Play packages are available from $83 and include 18-hole greens fee, cart rental and one night lodging. A two night minimum stay is required.
